Asphalt Paving Operator

Walbec Group’s Northeast Asphalt, Inc. is currently hiring experienced Asphalt Paving Operators to operate black‑top paving equipment, including asphalt pavers and rollers, on seasonal projects throughout Northeastern Wisconsin and beyond. Safety and efficiency are the foundation of our culture.

The Position

Seasonal roles following upcoming spring work schedules. Operate and maintain asphalt paving equipment safely and efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment and machinery to place hot‑mix asphalt at construction sites.
  • Work with one or several types of power construction equipment safely and effectively to minimize risk.
  • Read and understand grade stakes, automated machine control cab displays, and other operational cues.
  • Interpret specific plan grades as required for the assignment.
  • Maneuver machinery in tight quarters, around people, traffic, and utilities.
  • Clean, maintain, and secure all equipment.
  • Follow safety and incident reporting procedures.
  • Assist with repairs as needed.

Location
  • Northeast Asphalt primarily in Northeastern Wisconsin; however, projects will vary by location, requiring reliable transportation and a willingness to travel within the region or state.
The Candidate
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • CDL desired but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Capability to tolerate variable weather, dirty, and dusty conditions.
  • Union membership required or willingness to join; HR can assist with union enrollment.
