• Provide technical and design direction in the development of custom generator sets, including a working knowledge of generator control systems, switch gear, transfer switches, communications, and power electronics.
• Collaborate with sales, application engineering, design engineering, procurement, and production teams to engineer and design customer‑specific generator sets and power systems.
• Lead the electrical engineering design effort and delegate design tasks to design analysts and engineers, while consulting with engineering simulation, regulatory compliance, and other third‑party engineering resources as required.
• Research new and apply proven technology to utilize in special designs.
• Estimate design duration and product cost related to special design requests.
• Lead electrical design for generator controls integrations, including internal genset and ATS controls and harnesses, coordination and integration with any third‑party electrical systems, and manage this integration up to and including the commissioning process.
• Set ES project priorities as agreed upon with the Technical Solutions team.
• Evaluate project scopes to determine if within ES design control or an NPD project (internal or external).
• Provide technical support in the quoting process for the Technical Solutions team.

• Self‑motivated individual with a sense of urgency toward project completions and a drive to achieve engineering excellence through continuous improvement.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects or tasks, prioritize work, and direct local and remote engineers and designers.
• High degree of quality and on‑schedule delivery, within financial commitments, utilizing data‑driven decisions and critical thinking, including risk/reward trade‑offs.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, used internally and occasionally with end users.
• Experience in electrical engineering design of generator systems, control systems, switch gear, and power electronics.
