Overview
Audiologist position at Sheboygan Medical Office Building, Sheboygan, WI. This 32 hours per week role focuses on applying audiological principles across the lifespan, patient-centered care, and collaboration within Prevea Health.
Responsibilities- Apply audiological principles in selecting appropriate test procedures and interpreting results for otoscopic examination, behavioral testing, pure-tone and speech audiometry, speech in noise testing, impedance testing including tympanometry, acoustic reflex and reflex decay, otoacoustic emissions testing and other assessments as necessary for patient management across the lifespan.
- Provide hearing aid evaluations, selection, fittings, and counseling for hearing aid technology and assistive listening devices, applying current audiological principles in patient-centered amplification practices.
- Apply audiological principles in hearing conservation, hearing protection advocacy, plugs, muffs, and custom-made noise protectors as appropriate.
- Experience with vestibular assessment (ENG/VNG).
- Experience with cochlear implant mapping and follow-up is strongly preferred.
- Maintain quality patient care; continuing education is required by state licensure, with expectations for ongoing education and ethics credits.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic and exceptional patient care, with attention to billing, coding and maintenance of patient records.
- Practice universal precautions and clinical procedures to ensure patient and coworker safety, as well as office cleanliness.
- Master's Degree Required
- Doctorate in Audiology or Communication Disorders and certification required
- Conduct oneself to promote positive relationships with physicians, staff, contracted individuals, patients, and visitors.
- Engage in ongoing community service activities such as speaking engagements and advocacy for the hearing impaired in area schools and groups.
- Adhere to product pricing (hearing aids, assistive listening devices, etc.) based on customary and reasonable charges; maintain supplies and ordering as needed.
- Follow clinic policies related to provider work standards, timely documentation of patient encounters, timely submission of charges, and quality patient care.
- Provide professional supervision of graduate Audiology students in on-site externships at Prevea Health.
- Attend department meetings and contribute input regarding audiological services within Prevea Health.
- Certified, or certifiable for CCC-A from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) upon hire.
- Wisconsin license for Audiologist and Hearing Instrument Specialist upon hire.
