Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high‑quality plasma you collect will become life‑changing medicines. A commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.
The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and manufacturing environment. The Specialist follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and provides center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑equivalent recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license or certification (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic) in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Bio Life Compensation and Benefits SummaryWe understand compensation is an important factor. We are committed to equitable pay and transparency. For the location: USA – WI – Sheboygan. U.S. hourly wage range: $22.04 – $30.31. The range reflects qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and standard benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, short‑and long‑term disability, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
