Alliant Energy – Edgewater Generating Station, Sheboygan, WI

Dynamic leader to oversee operations at the Edgewater Generating Station. Responsible for leading a skilled team in operating and maintaining generation facilities to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient energy. Drives safety, environmental compliance, operational excellence and aligns facility outcomes with company goals.

• Lead hiring, performance management and development initiatives to foster a safe, inclusive workplace.
• Oversee all aspects of operations and maintenance of generation assets, including cost‑effective methodologies, reliability gap identification and long‑range planning.
• Ensure adequate resources are available, trained and assigned to address system reliability issues and improvements.
• Develop and implement strategic improvement plans for business processes within assigned facilities.
• Provide financial evaluation of existing and future assets, manage O&M and capital spend strategies.
• Assist in strategic succession planning, staffing plans and labor union discussions.
• Demonstrate safety leadership, enforce safety rules, investigate accidents and correct unsafe behaviors.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including operations support, regulatory, union leadership and community contacts.
• Interpret and implement regulations from DOT, OSHA, DNR and others.
• Lead facility environmental initiatives and prevent Notice of Violation issuance.
• Support Alliant Energy’s purpose, values and community initiatives.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.

• Seven years of experience in generation or related work.
• Five years of supervisory experience in generation, engineering, construction, project management or field operations.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Working knowledge of electric, gas or steam operating practices, construction standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with labor union management.
• Understanding of safety rules and applicable electric codes.
• Ability to read utility maps, plans, profiles and drawings.
• Financial budgeting and basic accounting skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of information technology applications and software (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheet, project management).

$130,000 – $180,000. This position is eligible for an annual incentive program. Final salary offered will be based on responsibilities, experience, skill set and internal equity.
