The duties of a Sanitation I employee are to disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble and test-run all elements of the line seven scaling and feeding system prior to the first shift start up.

• Disassembly of the Triangle system.
• Cleaning of the Triangle scale system.
• Reassembly of the Triangle system.
• Cleaning of the "steep" conveyor.
• Cleaning of the Urschel slicer.
• Cleaning of the "Z" conveyor.
• Other duties as assigned (to be done on nights when the Triangle system does not have to be cleaned).
• Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
• Report all food safety and quality related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the QA department to initiate immediate action.

• High school diploma or equivalent GED; 1 to 3 months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Receive the SSOP certification.
• Qualified to use a scissor lift (training provided by OWS).
• Qualified to use sanitation chemicals (training provided by OWS).
• Qualified to operate the Triangle system (clean out, set up and test run - training provided by OWS).
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effectively communicate information in one‑on‑one or small group situations to other employees of the organization.
• Perform mathematical operations using any or all units of weight measurement, volume, distance, and American money.
• Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram formats.

The employee must stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, taste or smell; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet, humid, refrigerated, or freezer conditions consistent with a food processing facility; very loud noise levels; regular exposure to extreme cold and vibration. Company provides rubber and metal gloves, cooler coats, sleeve protectors, aprons, bump caps, hair nets, beard nets, and ear plugs.
