Underground Utility Locators (Full-time)

We are recruiting Underground Utility Locators in your area for a rewarding career. Vannguard is seeking new team members with the right attitude in a drug‑free environment.

• Drive a company vehicle to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
• Utilize provided mapping tools and locating equipment to find underground utilities, including electrical, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
• Mark utility locations with paint or flags and communicate information to excavation personnel or authorities.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs according to the rotation schedule.

• Computer skills
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment
• Availability to work overtime when necessary
• Compliance with Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and pre‑employment drug screening
• Ability to self‑manage and communicate promptly with supervisors and clients

• Drive 50–300+ miles daily in the assigned geographic area
• Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day
• Stand and walk long distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions
• Sit for long periods while driving
• Lift and/or move 50–150 pounds
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

• High school or equivalent (required)

• Driver’s license (required)

• Multiple locations

Full‑time

The role is outdoors and involves minimal contact with others.

• 10‑hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Overtime

• Computer skills: 1 year (preferred)
• Utility locating: 1 year (preferred)
