Diesel Technician/Mechanic III – Entry Level

Join Penske Truck Leasing as a Technician and accelerate your career. You will perform preventive maintenance and minor partly on the newest fleet of diesel and gas vehicles, using Penske’s tools and technologies and receiving industry‑certified training.

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventive maintenance, such as tire replacement, component lubrication, electrical and cooling system repairs on gas and diesel vehicles.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
• Work on additional projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Basic computer skills.
• Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance required.
• Ability to meet DOT driver qualification file requirements and pass required drug screen and physical.
• Willingness to work the required schedule, complete background screening, and (=) travel locally for training.

• Perform frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
• Use hands to grasp, reach, handle tools.
• Work safely at heights with ladders and platforms.
• Work safely in all weather conditions.
• See and hear safely to navigate tshuab with large trucks.
• Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push/pull truck tires >100 lbs.
