About

The Role

As an Inclusive Learning Tutor in the EKC group you will assess and work with students from a variety of learning environments who are experiencing difficulties with learning. Your role will include providing 1:1 support to learners to enable them to achieve their maximum potential, and planning focused tasks which complement designated study programmes and/or courses.

You will have key responsibility for ensuring the design, delivery and evaluation of these support programmes. You will also have responsibility for the management of a team of learning support staff, including day-to-day supervision, monthly support meetings and management of the probation process. You may also be involved in the delivery of in-service staff training.

Your involvement with students will include participating in the consultation process for students with EHCPs hoping to attend a college in the EKC Group. You will support any students working at level 2 and 3 to ensure a high quality learning experience. You will also conduct annual reviews for students with EHCPs to consider their achievements, support needs and next destinations.

About You

You will have a passion for overcoming barriers to learning. You will be highly organised, creative and be able to plan and teach engaging and innovative sessions. You will have strong demonstrable interpersonal skills to engage reluctant learners. They will be skilled in assessing and tracking student progress and planning further intervention. This will be a vital part of the role, ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.

You will be able to teach a range of designated study programs and/or ad hoc sessions from Level 2 up to Level 3, and will be able to motivate learners to achieve and succeed on their programmes of study.
