Critical Care Paramedic – Helen Keller EMS – PRN – Shift Varies

The role of the Critical Care Paramedic involves ensuring personal safety and the safety of others, patient assessment and emergency care, safe lifting and moving of patients, patient transport and transfer, record keeping, data collection, and patient advocacy. The Paramedic is expected to demonstrate leadership qualities, mentor colleagues through teaching and feedback, provide care for high‑acuity patients, maintain exceptional patient care skills, and communicate effectively with physicians and other agencies or departments.

Education and Licensure

• Current Alabama license as a Critical Care Paramedic.

• FPC/CCP‑C, ACLS, PALS, BLS, BTLS/PHTLS certifications.

Experience

• 3 years of experience as a licensed Paramedic.

• 1 year as a primary care provider in the pre‑hospital environment.

Skills and Abilities



• Ability to work overtime and flexible scheduling to meet departmental and hospital staffing needs.

• Availability for on‑call duty when required.

• Knowledge of or ability to gain skills for administering critical care protocols and guidelines, including specialized equipment, advanced medications, intubation, IV and intraosseous access, advanced cardiac monitoring, complex ventilator management, dynamic patient assessment, radiology interpretation, and rapid decision making.
