Responsibilities

  • As an Accountant, you will be an integral part of Spryker’s global operational finance team, contributing to the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our day-to-day accounting operations
  • You will work closely with experienced finance professionals and external partners, supporting the full accounting cycle across our international entities and helping to build the scalable finance backbone Spryker needs as it grows
  • Reporting to the Director of Operational Finance, you will be a reliable and detail-driven contributor to the core accounting function—supporting monthly close activities, reconciliations, and compliance tasks across Spryker’s global entities
  • This role follows our remote-first culture. Candidates must be based in Europe and available for occasional in-person collaboration, particularly around key close periods or team sessions
  • This role is on a part‑time arrangement (minimum 30 hours per week)
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in line with applicable accounting standards
  • Process and review accounts receivables, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
  • Support intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and elimination entries
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in Net Suite, ensuring data integrity across the general ledger
  • Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors and tax advisors during audit and year‑end close cycles
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls, and workflows
  • Collaborate with internal teams including FP&A, Legal, and P&C to resolve queries and support cross‑functional finance needs
  • Support compliance with internal controls and accounting policies across all entities
Qualifications
  • This role is ideal for a mid‑level accounting professional who is comfortable working independently, eager to grow in a fast‑moving SaaS environment, and committed to high‑quality financial execution
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles, general ledger processes, and the mechanics of revenue recognition in a subscription business (deferred revenue, MRR/ARR, multi‑year contracts)
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally gained in a SaaS, tech, or international business environment with multiple legal entities and currencies
  • Hands‑on experience with month‑end close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and meeting close deadlines
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing operations, and intercompany accounting — including handling renewals and customer‑facing invoice topics
  • Experience supporting audit preparation and collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors is a plus
  • Working knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and VAT / Umsatzsteuer, including cross‑border and EU reverse charge scenarios, is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with modern finance tools and a willingness to adopt new systems and automation approaches
  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle Net Suite is required
  • Proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines within a fast‑paced environment
  • Fluency in English is required;
German language skills are nice to have
  • A collaborative team player who communicates clearly and proactively flags issues or blockers
  • Comfortable working in a remote‑first, international environment with a high degree of autonomy
  • Detail‑oriented and reliable, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality in all financial outputs
