Finance Assistant (Part‑Time, 20 Hours per Week)
We are looking for an organised and detail‑focused Finance Assistant to join our Finance team at Courtyard by Marriott Sheffield, working 20 hours per week over 5 days (Monday – Friday). The position offers a salary equivalent to £28,000 per annum (full‑time equivalent), with an actual annual salary of £14,000 based on a 20‑hour working week.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable (AR)- Raise and process sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile guest ledger accounts and company accounts.
- Chase outstanding payments and maintain debtor accounts.
- Allocate payments received and investigate discrepancies.
- Action credit control procedures and monthly aged debt reporting.
- Support month‑end AR reconciliations.
- Process supplier invoices and match against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Ensure invoices are authorised correctly and coded accurately.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries.
- Maintain accurate purchase ledger records and filing systems.
- Build positive working relationships with suppliers and department heads.
- Assist with daily banking and cash reconciliations.
- Assist with month‑end procedures and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Support audits and compliance checks.
- Assist with stock and cost control administration.
- Ensure adherence to hotel financial policies and procedures.
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or Finance Administration role.
- Experience with Accounts Receivable and Purchase Ledger is essential.
- Previous hospitality or hotel finance experience desirable.
- Good understanding of accounting processes and financial controls.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with all departments.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using hotel finance systems would be advantageous.
