Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Sheffield in their search for a Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm with a strong reputation for delivering a high-quality service to a varied portfolio of clients.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, managing accounts preparation and client relationships while also supporting more junior members of the team. There is plenty of scope to develop your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility as the firm continues to grow.
This role would suit an experienced Semi Senior or Senior Accountant who is looking for their next step within practice, particularly someone who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment.
Responsibilities- Preparing statutory accounts for a range of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
- Assisting clients with general accounting and tax queries
- Supporting clients with bookkeeping and VAT requirements where required
- Reviewing work completed by more junior members of the team
- Assisting with year-end and management accounts
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional advice and services to clients
- Working closely with managers and partners across the practice
- ACA/ACCA nearly qualified or qualified
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience across accounts preparation
- Comfortable managing a portfolio of clients
- Confident communicating with clients at all levels
- Able to work independently while also contributing to a wider team
- Keen to continue developing technically and professionally
- Study support (if applicable)
