We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Health and Work spaces Assistant to join our Safety, Health and Work spaces team at South Yorkshire Housing Association, based at our main office in Sheffield City Centre.
We are looking for someone who will bring excellent customer service, strong collaboration skills, and a proactive, organised approach to their work. This is a key role in keeping our main office running smoothly and safely, supporting our team, employees, contractors, and visitors.
Alongside day‑to‑day facilities support, this role will also play an important part in our health and safety work including accurate minute taking, maintaining files and records, and helping us stay compliant. The role will report to the Work spaces Lead to ensure that our Rockingham Street Main Office is well managed and maintained.
Responsibilities- Vary day to day depending on the needs of the office, contractors, and ongoing projects.
- Support facilities tasks, manage supplies within the office, and respond to department requests.
- Perform tasks such as fire safety checks, room setups, contractor coordination, and other administrative duties.
- Support with H&S documentation, collect important data, take minutes, handle urgent documents or reports, and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance.
- Passionate about supporting others and creating a brilliant impact on customer service.
- Adaptable, using problem‑solving skills to achieve the best outcomes.
- Collaborative and compassionate, striving to create positive, successful interactions with everyone who visits or contacts our Welcome Point.

Salary & Benefits- Salary: £23,582 per annum
- Working hours:
37 hrs per week - Generous holiday entitlement: 27 days annual leave, statutory bank holidays, plus an additional 4 SYHA days (pro rata)
