Legal Assistant - Commercial Property Team

Salary ‑ £24,000 – £27,000

Location ‑ Brighton

My client is seeking a friendly, organised individual who can provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support within a fast‑paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage a busy workload and consistently meet deadlines. Confidence in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and a legal case‑management system is essential. Previous experience working within commercial property law is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Opening files and maintaining the client database, including AML compliance
  • Confident managing emails and speaking to clients on the telephone
  • Monitoring deadlines to ensure timely task completion
  • Client onboarding and risk assessments
  • Using the Land Registry portal to obtain documents and submit applications
  • Assisting with completions and arranging payments
  • Billing and invoicing support
  • Digital audio typing and document production
  • Arranging meetings and managing diaries
  • Scanning, post handling and general administration
About You

My Client is looking for someone friendly, organised, and easy to work with — someone who’s happy to get stuck in.

This person should be confident with general admin, comfortable keeping things tidy and running smoothly, and able to open new files and handle day to day tasks without fuss. They would also need to be happy picking up the phone speaking to clients and third parties to answer them enquires/pass on messages. They don’t need loads of legal experience, but they should be willing to learn, ask questions, take initiative and get stuck in.
