Senior Business Support Officer

- Duration: Until 31/10/2026
- Pay: £13.69 per hour PAYE
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
Sheffield City Council are seeking a Senior Business Support Officer to join their Children's Service Life Long Learning Business Support team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operations of our business processes across various office locations in the city, including Sheaf Training and Career Development Centre. Candidates are expected to work at any designated location based on service requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Organise and manage a shared inbox to ensure efficient communication flows.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the service and students.
- Support a busy and confidential telephone line, handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Facilitate complex minute taking and provide support for panels and meetings, ensuring accurate record-keeping and follow-ups.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educated to a minimum of 5 x GCSEs including English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
- Proven experience in a similar administrative role, demonstrating competence in managing business support functions.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software, ensuring effective document management and data processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
