Aureos are seeking a Strategic Business Administrator / Business Performance Manager to join our highways division.

The Strategic Business Administrator /Business Performance Manager plays a critical role in driving business improvement initiatives, governance compliance, and strategic performance management across the business unit. This position ensures robust data capture and analysis, accurate reporting, and actionable insights to support leadership decision-making and continuous improvement.

Duties Performance Reporting
  • Collect, validate, and consolidate performance data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness (Project Health Score/ Business Development Plan Metrics, Project Gateways Compliance).
  • Transform raw data into actionable insights through trend analysis, benchmarking, and variance reporting.
  • Identify performance gaps and opportunities by interpreting data patterns and presenting recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and scorecards that visualise key metrics for leadership decision-making.
  • Attend Project Review Meetings (PRMs) to monitor compliance, capture insights, and update dashboards for Business Performance Reviews (BPR).
  • Collate and consolidate data for BPR packs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Contribute to Project Health and Gateway Compliance sections to support strategic reviews.
  • Provide structured updates and reports for Leadership Team and BPR meetings.
Business Improvement & Governance
  • Assist in the development and rollout of business improvement projects where required.
  • Drive Business Improvement initiatives (e.g., Gateways).
Strategic Planning
  • Develop and maintain the Business Development Plan (BDP), setting strategic goals and gathering initiative updates.
  • Facilitate monthly risk owner meetings to maintain the risk register.
  • Support strategic planning by providing predictive insights and scenario-based analysis.
  • Ensure data governance and integrity across all reporting processes.
Lessons Learned & Continuous Improvement
  • Embed lessons learned process into project close-out (G8).
  • Coordinate quarterly BU-level reviews of improvement actions.
Secondary tasks
  • Own Business Development Plan initiative.
Person Specification Qualifications and Training
  • Essential:
    Degree or equivalent experience in Business Management, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
  • Desirable:
    Advanced data analysis or BI tool training (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Desirable: APMP or PRINCE2 Project Management accreditation.
Knowledge
  • Essential:
    Knowledge of data analysis techniques reporting standards, and dashboard development.
  • Desirable:
    Familiarity with risk management principles and strategic planning processes.
  • Desirable:
    Awareness of lessons learned methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
Skills and abilities
  • Essential:
    Advanced analytical skills with ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools and MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in use of recognised digital analysis and reporting tools to bring new ideas and ways of working into the business.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Exhibits collaborative behaviours in approach to team working.
  • Desirable:
    Knowledge and application of Lean principles to drive continuous improvement. e.g. value stream mapping, practical problem solving techniques, root cause analysis techniques.
