Role

The Bid Proposal Manager will be accountable for coordinating the Managed Communications’ formal response to new‑business and account‑retention tenders. The primary focus is to ensure we submit a compelling bid on time and to the required quality standards. The role involves creating solutions, proposals, setting up content management, and developing a future team.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and continuously improving the performance of the Managed Communications knowledge base, including developing new content from scratch, on‑demand, and updating records with persuasive case studies.
  • Re‑writing content received from other departments to ensure it is sales‑focused, on‑brand, and compelling.
  • Co‑developing the win strategy and key themes during kick‑off and story‑boarding meetings.
  • Working with key personnel to create cross‑functional project teams, producing project plans, and prioritising activities to deliver on time.
  • Ensuring completed bids are submitted to the customer on time and in the required format via e‑procurement solutions and tender portals.
  • Evaluating the customer’s requirements, developing a winning proposal strategy with sales, finance, and pricing teams, and authoring the bid response.
  • Anticipating potential issues and continually re‑prioritising tasks to meet schedules.
Qualifications
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills. Experience in business or bid writing, copywriting, editing, or journalism is desirable.
  • Highly organised and excellent communicator, able to extract information from stakeholders, translate technical language into persuasive business writing, and influence others.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to zoom in to assess work in minute detail and zoom out to assess overall progress.
  • Team‑player comfortable working in a deadline‑driven environment and under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks to meet schedules.
  • Proficiency with Advanced Microsoft Office; experience with Qvidian or SANT proposal automation software is advantageous.
