* For the expansion of our market access team, argenx is looking for a Director, Market Access, UK.
** The role
** A rare opportunity to shape the reimbursement and access strategy for one of the most innovative immunology companies, with multiple launches and indications expected over the coming years
* A highly visible role with significant influence across the UK leadership team and global organisation, offering real ownership rather than execution alone;
* Acting as an enterprise thinker to develop a strategic UK voice / perspective and ensure that it is represented within the global access team;
* Optimising the late stage argenx pipeline, providing an opportunity to build, rather than simply maintain, market access strategies across several disease areas;
* Shaping future access pathways:
The UK is entering a period of significant change, with MHRA and NICE reforms creating important ecosystem / policy opportunities to position the UK as a leading launch market.
** PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION
** The UK Market Access Director will be responsible for leading pricing, reimbursement, market access, and policy activities across the UK & Ireland, and execution across all payer and distribution channels.
More broadly, the UK MA Director will be a dotted-line member of the global argenx Market Access team, supporting global market access initiatives and working in close collaboration with other functions and select local-country teams.
** ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Develop innovative UK & Ireland pricing and access strategies that are of high quality, based on value delivered and that are fit for purpose;
* Have deep country-level understanding of UK payer needs, decision-making approaches, strategies, and country reimbursement stakeholders and influencers;
* External engagement:
Partner with the broader UK & Ireland life sciences ecosystems (NICE, SMC, NCPE, MHRA, Westminster, etc.) and industry groups (e.g. EMG);
* Collaborate with the UK Senior Leadership Team on the local pricing & reimbursement processes in the UK & Ireland;
* Coordinate the negotiation strategy for UK & Ireland, with a clearly defined negotiation approach, in close collaboration with the UK Senior Leadership Team and other functions as needed;
* Establish and maintain personal relationships with select payers, advisors, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders;
* Support the development of health economic and outcomes analyses (CEA, BIA, burden of disease, etc.) required for access, working in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams in medical affairs, evidence generation, HEORand R&D;
* Develop compliant communication tools to be used in discussions with payers;
* Leads internal & external providers to ensure that Market Access deliverables are suitable for purpose & available in a timely fashion;
* Evaluates market access & P&R environmental developments.
** SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
*** Strong cross-functional business partnership. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively together within cross-functional teams and networks;
* Ability to grasp highly technical concepts and to work within a deeply scientific environment;
Exceptional learning agility, demonstrated by advancement in prior roles/companies ;
* Direct experience negotiating with payers and securing positive HTA outcomes in the UK (NICE / SMC) and Ireland (NCPE);
* Experience working within launch and commercialisation teams for therapies in the orphan and rare disease space in the UK;
* First-rate analytical ability, with a track record of using data to inform decision-making;
* Is agile and demonstrates adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, trust-building, and resilience;
* Derives energy from operating in a dynamic, complex, fast-moving, and frequently changing business environment;
* Demonstrable experience with project management, proactive planning, priority setting, and securing alignment;
* Drives toward outcomes;
