We're currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Supply Chain Sustainability Manager - Governance and Human Rights.

As our Supply Chain Sustainability Manager (Governance and Human Rights) you will lead the development and embedment of ESG governance, ESG due diligence, and the Human Rights agenda across HSBC's supply chain.

For due diligence, the role develops and implements onboarding and ongoing approaches to identify, assess, mitigate, monitor, and escape ESG risks in line with regulatory expectations and organisational risk appetite.

For Human Rights, the role strengthens HSBC's capability to prevent, minimise, and address risks of human rights harm (including modern slavery) within the supply chain by embedding clear processes, decision points, escalation routes, and supplier/category engagement. The role holder acts as the point of contact for human rights and modern slavery queries and escalations within the supply chain, and serves as a key interface for risk, compliance, and legal partners.

They are accountable for both short- and long-term management of sustainability, climate, and reputational risks across the supply chain.

This role designs and maintains fit-for-purpose governance that provides effective oversight, supports compliance with internal policies and relevant external regulatory requirements, and ensures strong engagement with second line of defence (2

LoD) stakeholders.

• Own and continuously enhance Supply Chain Sustainability ESG governance and the supply chain human rights agenda.
• Design, implement, and oversee onboarding and ongoing ESG due diligence processes, ensuring proportionate controls and clear accountability.
• Monitor emerging ESG regulations and supervisory expectations; assess impacts and coordinate readiness and implementation activities.
• Embed ESG governance requirements into risk management and operational processes, including clear escalation paths and documented decision-making.
• Act as SPOC for risk, compliance, and legal teams on ESG governance, due diligence, and human rights matters.
• Maintain ownership of supply chain ESG risks and coordinate short- and long-term risk management plans across sustainability, climate, and reputational risk themes.
• Coordinate audit, disclosure, and assurance activities relevant to governance, due diligence, and human rights; manage inputs, actions, and evidence..
• Drive continuous improvement in human rights and modern slavery controls, including process design, policy maintenance, colleague capability uplift, and horizon scanning.
• Lead supplier and category engagement on human rights risk identification, mitigation actions, and continuous improvement

• Strong understanding of core procurement processes and systems.
• Demonstrable experience applying ESG principles within a procurement and/or supply chain context.
• Knowledge of ESG reporting requirements and regulations (e.g. CSDDD, SS5/25, ISSB).
• Track record in ESG due diligence, assurance, and risk management, including control design and evidence-based oversight.
