As an Assistant Project Manager within our Growth & Sector Development team, you'll gain experience working across a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting delivery from planning through to completion and helping to ensure programmes achieve their intended outcomes.

About the role

As Assistant Project Manager
- Growth, you will provide vital project management and coordination support across a range of growth, regeneration, innovation and economic development projects. Working closely with colleagues, delivery partners and stakeholders, you'll help keep projects on track by managing information, coordinating activity, supporting governance processes and monitoring delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their project management expertise in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects and work streams across the Growth & Sector Development portfolio.
  • Maintain project documentation, performance information, risk registers and governance records to support effective delivery and decision-making.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, presentations and project updates for managers, boards and stakeholders.
  • Work with colleagues, local authorities, businesses and delivery partners to coordinate activity and ensure actions are progressed.
  • Support budget monitoring, procurement, contract management and grant administration activities.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement, consultation and communication activities that support successful project delivery.
About you

You will be an organised and motivated individual with a keen interest in project management and a passion for making things happen. You'll enjoy working collaboratively, solving problems and coordinating multiple activities at once, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and focus on delivery.

  • Experience of supporting projects, programmes or work streams within a professional environment.
  • Good knowledge of project management principles, tools and processes, with a desire to further develop your skills.
