The RoleThe company is seeking an experienced Principal Designer (CDM) & Health & Safety Advisor to join its Health & Safety team. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures that projects are designed and delivered in full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations, embedding health and safety throughout both the pre-construction and construction process.
Key Responsibilities- Take on the Principal Designer role across a range of large and complex construction projects.
- Produce CDM documentation, including Pre-Construction Information reports and Design Risk Registers.
- Assess contractor Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Construction Phase Plans.
- Advise clients and project teams to discharge duties under CDM 2015.
- Conduct site visits and audits, providing recommendations for Health & Safety improvements.
- Collate and maintain Health and Safety Files.
- Support the wider Health & Safety team and act as a point of contact for CDM/H&S matters.
- Contribute to business development activities, including client engagement and bid preparation.
- Proven experience as a Principal Designer on large-scale construction projects.
- NEBOSH Construction qualification, CSCS card, and a full UK driving licence.
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, construction processes, and RIBA stages.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage workload proactively.
- Incorporated Member of the Association of Project Safety.
