We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places – Building Solutions team based in Sheffield.

Hours08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Friday

OverviewAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in managing the commercial aspects of our projects, working collaboratively with our teams to deliver high-quality building solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse refurbishment and building safety projects, typically ranging from £5m to £15m, where your expertise will help maximise project value whilst supporting excellent client relationships.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Building Solutions Team, supporting them in delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Your day‑to‑day will include
- Managing commercial resources and maximising project margins through careful contract placement and control
- Tendering, evaluating, and appointing subcontractors, consultants, and placing orders for materials and plant
- Identifying, negotiating, and agreeing project variations with customers and suppliers
- Measuring, valuing, and agreeing work progress to support invoicing and payment processes
- Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
- You have clear communication skills and experience working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and supply chain partners
- You hold relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable) and have experience in a similar role
