Sub Agent – Infrastructure
Location – Sheffield
Purpose of the roleAs a Sub Agent on Galliford Try’s Sheffield Transforming Cities highways project, you’ll play a key role in keeping the project running smoothly and safely. You’ll help make sure the right people, materials and plant are in place at the right time, supporting effective site management and ensuring all work is delivered with care, quality and due diligence.
What you will be doing- Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive working environment for everyone on site
- Oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of a section of works, supporting and guiding site teams and subcontractors
- Plan, coordinate and monitor progress to keep work on track and aligned with project goals
- Manage multiple work packages, working collaboratively with the commercial team on costs and performance
- Build positive, respectful relationships with clients and stakeholders, attending meetings and sharing updates
- Contribute to reporting, cost forecasting, valuations and overall project performance
- Support teams to work to the latest designs, ensuring materials, RAMS, permits and documentation are in place
- Promote quality, safety and continuous improvement through regular checks, problem‑solving and developing others
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to working safely and supporting a positive, inclusive site culture
- Able to understand and work with drawings, specifications and programme information
- Well organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
- Confident working collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, designers and clients
- Brings relevant technical knowledge and qualifications (e.g. HNC or higher in Engineering, SMSTS and relevant CSCS)
