This is an excellent opportunity for a talented architect to collaborate with senior designers and technical specialists, delivering high-quality architectural solutions while continuing to develop their professional skills and career. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating exceptional buildings, strong design and technical capabilities, and the ability to manage projects from initial concept through to completion.

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale architectural projects while managing multiple smaller projects, building strong client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead client briefings and translate project requirements into creative, practical and deliverable design proposals.

  • Manage multiple or complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring client satisfaction, commercial performance and timely delivery.

  • Develop initial design concepts and progress these through detailed design, working collaboratively with a small project team.

  • Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, providing design leadership while also managing team members and working independently when required.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, communicating design ideas clearly and sensitively.

  • Contribute to business development activities, including supporting bids and helping to secure new projects.

  • Manage project fees and invoicing, with administrative support where required.

  • Prepare and coordinate design submissions, technical information, drawings, plans, reports and specifications.

  • Deliver high-quality drawings and presentations, clearly communicating design concepts and their evolution.

  • Develop positive working relationships across teams and business areas, demonstrating an awareness of the impact of your work on others.

  • Contribute to the practice’s profile and reputation through high-quality project delivery and positive public relations.

Essential Requirements
  • Educated to at least RIBA Part 3 level, with approximately 5–10 years of post-qualification experience.

  • Demonstrable experience working within the primary and community healthcare sectors.

  • Experience working in a design-led, quality-focused architectural practice with a strong emphasis on project delivery.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with clients and understand the sensitivities involved in client meetings and presentations.

  • Strong design skills, with the ability to develop, explain and present architectural concepts.

  • Proven experience managing projects, balancing competing priorities and delivering multiple projects simultaneously.

  • The ability to work collaboratively within large multidisciplinary teams, manage a small team and work independently.

  • Experience coordinating design submissions and technical information, preparing drawings and documentation, and contributing to reports and specifications.

  • A keen interest in large-scale architectural projects, alongside the ability to manage smaller projects effectively.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work with minimal briefing when required.

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Proficiency in Revit and Enscape.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.

  • Experience working on major projects valued at £100 million or more.

  • Experience delivering mental health projects.

  • Familiarity with Code Book and Activity Data Base systems.

What’s on Offer?
  • Full-time or part-time working options, with part-time hours available from 80% FTE.

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

  • A comprehensive employee benefits package.

  • A contemporary and collaborative working environment.

  • A friendly, open and supportive team culture.

  • The opportunity to become an employee-owner through an employee ownership model.

  • Opportunities to work on a varied portfolio of healthcare and large-scale architectural projects, supporting ongoing professional development and career progression.
