Position: whole-time Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the provision of elective primary hip and knee arthroplasty services and neck of femur trauma surgery, working with senior colleagues at Consultant and Specialist grades.
  • Participate in the elective cold site on‑call rota based at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, but not on acute major trauma on call.
  • Deliver scheduled independent elective outpatient and elective theatre sessions, and cover some Neck of Femur Trauma lists.
  • Assist in the training of trainees and support the development of interest in primary hip and knee arthroplasty.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the GMC with a valid licence to practise.
  • Work under the terms and conditions of service Specialist‑ (England (2021) and accept an indicative job plan outlined in the supporting job description and person specification.
  • Awareness of recent changes to immigration rules for Non‑UK/EEA applicants and understanding of Skilled Worker sponsorship requirements and salary thresholds.
