We are looking to appoint to whole time (10PA's) Substantive Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Cardiac Imaging within the Medical Imaging and Medical Physics Directorate of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH), Sheffield. The successful candidate will join the existing collaborative team of cardiac imagers (Radiologists and Cardiologists from STH and the Yorkshire region) as part of the 57 NHS and 3 University radiologists within the Radiology Directorate.

The candidate is expected to have a major interest in Cardiac cross-sectional Imaging as well as an ability to provide support for the acute CT service for inpatient and Emergency Department patients, and general radiology activity across the Trust. Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology. The successful candidate will contribute to a comprehensive cardiothoracic imaging service across the Trust, supporting one of the UK's largest tertiary centres for respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, cardiology and cardiac surgery. We are home to one of the largest Pulmonary Vascular Disease Units in the world, providing internationally recognised pulmonary hypertension service.

Sheffield is recognised for cardiovascular imaging AI, with active programmes developing and translating AI into clinical practice.   • Completion of subspecialty training in cardiac and thoracic imaging with expertise in performing and independent reporting all aspects of general cardiothoracic CT and cardiac MRI reporting to the level expected in a tertiary level center.
  • The ability to independently undertake general CT work and ultrasound to support the workload of the department and on call
  • Fellowship in advanced cardiothoracic radiology
  • MSK interventional skills. Registered (or eligible to be registered) with the GMC with a licence to practice
  • Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
  • FRCR or equivalent, MD or PhD or equivalent, Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
  • Ability to work as an independent practitioner having completed a minimum of 5 years training in clinical radiology., Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training at all levels
  • Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management
  • Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see below)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • The applicant must demonstrate skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking the English language that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as set out in the GMC' good medical practice (2013).
  • Proficient IT skills., Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate
