SEND Classroom Specialist – SEND Schools
Location: Brighton & Hove
Pay: £340–£360 per week
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday–Friday, Full Time)
DBS Requirement: Child Only Enhanced DBS
Teaching Personnel are working closely with SEND schools across the Brighton & Hove area and are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join us as a SEND Classroom Specialist
.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support both primary and secondary aged pupils with PMLD (Pround, Multiple, Learning, Difficulties), helping them access learning in a supportive and structured environment.
The Role:Provide 1:1 and small group classroom support
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Implement behaviour and support strategies, including de‑escalation techniques
Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCo teams, and external professionals
Act as a consistent, positive role model within the classroom
Patient, adaptable, and proactive individuals
Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)
Understanding of ASC & ADHD and inclusive classroom practices
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
Full‑time availability (Monday to Friday)
A Child Only Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
