A Mind Apart is a multi-award-winning performing arts social enterprise based in Sheffield, dedicated to opening hearts and minds through inclusive creative practice. We deliver performing arts classes, workshops, school programmes, community projects, and creative therapy for children, young people, and adults. Our mission is to support confidence, wellbeing, self-expression, and skill development for people of all abilities, including neurodiverse participants and those with additional learning needs.
We are expanding our Facilitator Network and are seeking passionate, adaptable, and experienced Freelance Creative Facilitators to deliver inclusive performing arts workshops. This role involves delivering sessions across schools, alternative education provisions, community settings, and A Mind Apart's Sheffield studio. Facilitators will help participants explore their creativity, build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy a safe, welcoming environment.
The role is freelance and ad-hoc, offering opportunities through school bookings, holiday clubs, studio classes, and occasional cover for core programmes.
Facilitators must be available primarily Tuesday-Thursday, with some flexibility for additional bookings. Travel across Yorkshire & Humber, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, and Nottinghamshire is required, so access to a vehicle is advantageous.

Freelance rate £25/hour.
Job Requirements- Deliver high-quality performing arts workshops (drama, dance, creative arts)
- Facilitate sessions in schools, alternative education provisions, community venues, and A Mind Apart's Sheffield studio
- Adapt sessions to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
- Work with children, young people, and adults, including neurodiverse participants
- Create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments
- Support participants to develop confidence, wellbeing, creativity, and skills
- Use participant-led and inclusive practice
- Represent A Mind Apart's ethos and values professionally
- Be available for ad-hoc freelance bookings, primarily Tuesday - Thursday, with flexibility for additional days
- Travel across Yorkshire & Humber, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, and Nottinghamshire
Essential:
- Proven experience facilitating performing arts workshops with children, young people, and/or adults
- Strong understanding of inclusive practice
- Experience supporting neurodiverse individuals (Autism, ADHD) and participants with additional needs
- Excellent communication and group management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
- In-date safeguarding training
- Willingness and ability to travel to multiple venues
Desirable:
- First Aid qualification
- Access to your own vehicle
