Connex Education are working with various SEND Schools in Sheffield who are seeking Psychology Students who are interested in working in SEND Schools as a Teaching Assistant.

The schools we work with cater for pupils aged between 2 and 19 with a range of needs including Social, emotional, mental health. If you have a keen interest in children’s development and mental health then this could be the role for you.

As a Psychology Student working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children emotionally, academically and pastorally. You will manage behaviour and implement coping strategies to help them self‑regulate. We have a range of roles available including day‑to‑day (working around your university timetable), part‑time and full‑time roles. The hours are usually Monday‑Friday 8.30am until 3.30pm.

• A keen interest in children’s behaviour and development
• Currently studying or recently qualified in Psychology
• Experience of supporting children or adults with additional needs
• The ability to build relationships with staff and pupils as well as maintaining professional boundaries.
• Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
