SEN Learning Support Assistant

Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant (Contract)
PK Education are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis at a specialist school in the Sheffield area.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting pupils with medical needs and a range of learning difficulties. We are looking for a committed, hands-on individual who is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children with SEND.

The Role:

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with medical and learning difficulties

Support learners with social, complex, medical and specific learning needs

Deliver interventions and therapy-based play planned by the school

Promote a child-centred, topic-based learning approach

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Maintain a calm, nurturing and consistent presence in the classroom

Be proactive, hands-on and fully engaged at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Clear verbal and written communication skills

Experience supporting learners with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis

A patient, calm and nurturing approach

The ability to build trusted relationships

A professional and consistent work ethic

A genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs
