About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking special educational needs setting in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed educator who is enthusiastic about creating inclusive, engaging learning experiences for pupils with a range of additional needs.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons tailored to pupils with diverse needs, which may include autism (ASC), SEMH, learning disabilities, communication difficulties, or complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and adapt lessons to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
Create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and the SENCO
Use a range of strategies to support communication, sensory needs, and behaviour
Track and assess pupil progress, contributing to reports and reviews
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff
Promote independence, emotional regulation, and personal development
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have:
QTS or QTLS (essential)
Experience working with SEND pupils, either in mainstream or special settings
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
A patient, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
A willingness to work collaboratively and continuously develop your practice
Desirable:
Experience with ASC, SEMH, or complex needs
Knowledge of PECs, Makaton, sensory integration, or trauma-informed practice
Experience in specialist settings (SEN schools, resource bases, PRUs, etc.)
