Position: Maths Teachers (ECT)

Maths Teacher (ECT) – Full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026

These long-term supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience and build confidence across secondary school settings. You will be working in schools across Mildenhall and the surrounding areas, delivering consistent, high-quality Maths teaching while developing your classroom practice in a supportive long-term role.

Duties as Maths Teacher (ECT)
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons in line with the secondary curriculum
  • Teach a range of mathematical topics across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high expectations
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress where required
  • Work collaboratively with department colleagues, mentors, and support staff
  • Contribute positively to wider school life during the long-term placement
Ideal Maths Teacher (ECT)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026
  • Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience in Mathematics
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Maths curriculum
  • Confident, reflective, and eager to develop classroom practice
  • Good organisation and time-management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Adaptable across different school environments
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
