A school in Sheffield is looking for a calm, resilient and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to make a real difference every day.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant
, you will work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to support students with challenging or complex behaviours, focusing on de-escalation, positive reinforcement and helping young people develop emotional regulation skills.

• Provide targeted behaviour support to individual pupils and small groups
• Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
• De‑escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
• Build positive, consistent relationships with students to encourage trust and engagement
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to share observations and progress
• Support pupils in developing self‑regulation and social skills
• Contribute to the review and implementation of individual behaviour plans

• Experience supporting children or young people with social, emotional or behavioural difficulties (SEMH)
• A sound understanding of behaviour management strategies and trauma‑informed practice
• Patient, resilient and able to remain composed under pressure
• Strong relationship‑building skills with both students and colleagues
• A proactive and reflective approach to supporting individual needs
• Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support (desirable)

• Have the right to work in the UK
• Have an up‑to‑date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
• Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education
