Pantysgallog Primary School, Pant, Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 2AD

Class Teacher (1 year fixed term) – fixed term contract with potential for extension. Commence Autumn Term 2026 (pending safeguarding clearance).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Enthusiastic and innovative with excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
  • Lead a curriculum area enabling all children to succeed in their learning
  • Inspire and encourage children to reach their full potential through high-quality learning experiences
  • Motivate, challenge and support others
  • Facilitate effective partnerships with staff, parents, governors and the local community
  • Utilise ICT effectively to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities
  • Maintain high expectations of achievement and commit to raising standards
  • Be adaptable, resourceful and innovative
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and familiarity with A Curriculum for Wales – A curriculum for Life.
  • Excellent classroom practice, inspiring and encouraging students
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of skills development and pedagogy
  • Proficiency in ICT and ability to use it to enhance learning
  • Ability to develop bilingualism (Welsh as a second language)
  • Experience with assessment for learning strategies
  • Experience of safeguarding and compliance with data protection and information security policies
  • Ability to speak Welsh is desirable
