High Hazels Nursery Infant School, Sheffield.
Salary: £21,503.95 (actual salary) – FTE £24,921
Contract:
Term‑time only (39 weeks), 37.5 hours per week
Start date:

Full time
Role overview: Support 8 pupils with autism and/or speech, language and communication needs in the Ruby High Needs Hub during the morning, and deliver targeted speech and language support for individual pupils across the infant phase in the afternoons.
Responsibilities
- Support children with speech, language and communication needs.
- Deliver targeted language and communication activities.
- Help children develop emotional regulation and social interaction skills.
- Work with pupils who are at early language stages.
- Create a communication‑friendly, engaging learning environment.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with speech, language or communication development needs.
- Use positive behaviour approaches and build children’s self‑esteem.
- Be calm, resilient and flexible in your approach.
- Work well as part of a multi‑professional team.
- Have supported speech, language and communication development (previous role as teaching assistant or similar).
