£45,182 to £46,370 per annum.

Package

42 days (310.8 hours) + 8 Bank Holidays (59.2 hours) – includes a discretionary Christmas closure period.

The Role

We have high aspirations and standards for ourselves and our learners. This role will be a key one in supporting the college’s mission to ensure our students acquire the qualifications and skills needed to progress in employment, careers, apprenticeships, further training and university level courses. It will support our ambitions to ensure all students achieve their potential and develop work‑related skills while at the college.

As a Curriculum Manager you will improve and maintain the quality of technical education provision for a number of programmes, through day‑to‑day leadership and management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Improve and maintain the quality of the curriculum provision so that it is rated at least “Good” by Ofsted or self‑assessed to be at least “Good” by the college.
  • Improve student outcomes so that pass rates are maintained at or above national rates.
  • Develop and maintain a relevant, future‑focused curriculum offer that meets local and regional needs/priorities.
  • Work closely with other academy leaders to deliver the academy's strategy and objectives.
  • Lead on delivering a high‑quality student experience within your curriculum area, resulting in outstanding achievement, progression and employability outcomes for all students, and ensuring an academic culture that blends high expectations, innovation and respect.
  • Provide outstanding operational educational leadership in the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of the curriculum and the student experience.
  • Implement and embed operational plans for your curriculum area that drive quality improvement and enable staff to flourish and deliver academic excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Work with the academy director to develop and deliver the curriculum development plan that drives curriculum development, quality improvement and teaching and learning across your curriculum area.
  • Support the development and embed a relevant and innovative curriculum offer that focuses on student progression and destinations; develop and implement new curriculum, where appropriate, in line with local and national priorities and to meet demand.
  • Deliver provision that is inclusive and raises aspirations, securing achievement beyond expectations.
  • Oversee the assessment strategy for programmes in your area, reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of assessment and using findings to instigate change and enhance the curriculum.
  • Take the role of Lead IV for programmes where required to ensure the rule of the awarding organisation is followed, standardisation activities are followed and EQA visits are effectively planned and managed.
  • Support the academy director and work with other curriculum managers to ensure all study programme students within the academy meet the conditions of funding.
  • Undertake teaching responsibilities, including around 300 hours of cover.
  • Ensure that college systems and processes are implemented effectively, including the implementation of relevant college strategies, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legal duties.
  • Support the academy director to develop the annual business plan and provide effective information for the college business reviews.
  • Deliver value for money by taking day‑to‑day responsibility for the efficient and effective deployment of resources.
  • Provide day‑to‑day management for the curriculum area and its staff, ensuring a solutions‑focused and supportive culture and clear direction.
