Job Title:
School Administrator / Attendance Officer About the Role
Career Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-organised secondary school in Sheffield to recruit a dedicated School Administrator / Attendance Officer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or someone with school-based experience to contribute to the smooth running of a busy school environment. You will play a key role in supporting attendance processes, maintaining student records, and ensuring effective communication between school staff and families.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage student attendance and punctuality records
- Follow up daily absences in line with safeguarding and school procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student data and records
- Produce attendance reports for senior leadership teams
- Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns
- Support safeguarding procedures by ensuring accurate record keeping
- Provide general administrative support within the school office
Essential:
- Previous administrative experience (ideally within a school or education setting)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience working in a school environment
- Knowledge of attendance procedures and safeguarding practices
- Previous experience with school management systems such as Arbor or SIMS is preferred
