Overview
As Student Experience Manager, you will oversee and manage staff to deliver a high‑quality, inclusive, and accessible learning experience for all students. You will support students by actively seeking and responding to the student voice (via student‑staff committees, NSS, Tell Us) to enhance their journey from induction to graduation.
Working collaboratively with the School Director of Education and School Manager, you will support the delivery of strategic objectives, improve the experience for students, lead on external compliance and drive student‑voice initiatives, and allocate responsibilities in a fair and equitable manner.
The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of student‑related issues, be an experienced line manager, a strong leader of people, and will work collaboratively with colleagues across the institution to ensure student‑experience activities are delivered effectively and efficiently in line with University policies.
Main duties and responsibilities- Work closely with the School Director of Education and School Manager to support delivery of the School’s strategic Action Plan in relation to Student Experience.
- Lead the Student Experience Professional Service, including line management of staff and ensuring coverage in absence.
- Oversee all School student‑voice activities and related processes, including developing and delivering the School’s student‑voice strategy, managing NSS and Tell Us, reviewing data, and ensuring closure of the feedback loop.
- Ensure School compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding, attendance monitoring, and student‑level arrangements.
- Manage academic complaints, appeals, and student complaints.
- Support student engagement and academic progression by overseeing activity and ensuring targeted action.
- Develop and deliver inclusive processes for Extenuating Circumstances, Learning Support Plans, and support the Access and Participation Plan.
- Lead, where required, Fitness to Practice within the School.
- Oversee all student‑facing events, materials, and communications, including welcome and induction activities aligned to the University framework.
- Develop and implement student community‑building activities.
- Participate in relevant committees, such as the School Education Committee and other appropriate groups.
- Support colleagues in the wider Education and Student Experience Team to deliver responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.
- Carry out other duties as commensurate with the post.

- Educated to A‑Level standard with GCSE Mathematics and English (or equivalent experience).
Essential - Previous experience in a professional or managerial role, ideally within Higher Education.
Essential - Effective communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to negotiate with colleagues of all levels.
Essential - High level of IT literacy, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications, and ability to learn new software.
Essential - Experience leading, reviewing, managing, and motivating a team to achieve high‑quality service delivery.
Essential - Experience of process and policy design and improvement.
Essential - Highly motivated, able to work autonomously and refer complex issues to senior colleagues.

- Salary: £38,784 – £47,389 per annum
