Job Title: Behaviour Support (Secondary)

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £460 - £600 per week

Contract Type: Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day

Are you committed to supporting young people who need help managing behaviour and engagement in a school setting? A supportive secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support practitioner to join their team.

About the School: The school is a welcoming and inclusive secondary setting that prioritises strong behaviour systems, consistency and pupil wellbeing. Staff work closely together to create a structured environment where students are supported to make positive choices, build resilience and stay engaged in their learning. The school places a strong focus on clear routines, respect and positive relationships across the community.

About the Role: As a Behaviour Support member of staff, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEN staff to support pupils who may struggle with behaviour and engagement. You will help de-escalate situations, provide consistent support in lessons and encourage positive interactions across the school day.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with behaviour and engagement across the classroom
  • Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies
  • Help de-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour, attendance and participation in learning
  • Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Calm, confident and resilient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students
  • Team-focused and adaptable attitude
  • Interest in supporting behaviour and pastoral development in schools

To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support (Secondary), you should: have the right to work in the UK; have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years; have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
