Sen Teaching Assistant

PK Education are currently looking to recruit teaching assistants in the Sheffield area. This will give you the opportunity to develop your career and gain a lot of valuable experience working in a range of different settings from one to one and in group settings. A successful candidate will:

• Have an NVQ Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred)

• Experience with working with children or young people

• Be PECS or Makaton trained, not necessary but preferred.

• Be committed and passionate about working with children

Key Responsibilities:

• Working one to one or in groups with children who have autism to ensure that their educational needs are being met.

• Planning a program for this individual student so that they are developing at an efficient rate.

• Helping with the development of social skills and confidence alongside education.

• Where required, using all methods that are helpful for Autistic children, including sensory enrichment and through specialist practices such as Makaton
