About the Role
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Support professional who is passionate about promoting student wellbeing, improving attendance, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning?
Reeson Education are recruiting a skilled Pastoral Support professional to work in a supportive and inclusive school environment in Sheffield (S9) starting from September 2026
. This role is ideal for an experienced education or pastoral professional who can build positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff while supporting students' personal, social, and emotional development.
- Student Wellbeing: Provide individual and small-group pastoral support to promote students' emotional wellbeing, resilience, and personal development.
- Attendance & Engagement: Support strategies to improve attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and engagement with learning.
- Behaviour & Emotional Support: Work proactively with students experiencing behavioural or emotional challenges, helping them develop positive coping strategies and decision‑making skills.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and pastoral outcomes, maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates to school staff.
- Multi‑Agency
Collaboration:
Work closely with teachers, pastoral leaders, safeguarding teams, parents, carers, and external agencies to provide coordinated support for students.
- Previous experience working in a pastoral, behaviour, mentoring, youth work, education, or safeguarding role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach when supporting young people.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
- Competitive daily rate of £105–130

This role requires strong safeguarding awareness. All applicants must meet full safer‑recruitment requirements, including holding an enhanced DBS on the update service or being willing to obtain one.
