University Teacher in Digital Marketing

OverviewThe University of Sheffield’s new MSc in Digital Marketing will launch in September 2026. This role supports the delivery of the MSc and existing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
As a key member of the curriculum design team you will develop and deliver digital marketing teaching across the School’s taught programmes, working with colleagues from marketing and creative and cultural industries. You will also take on an administrative course‑level role, such as Module Leader.
Applicants must have experience delivering digital marketing teaching in a Higher Education setting and demonstrate a commitment to building a national and/or international profile in marketing education.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative and Cultural Industries (MCCI) Subject Group to design and deliver digital marketing teaching within the School’s programmes, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and alignment with the University’s Education Strategy.
- Improve and enhance student experience and outcomes through curriculum design that meets student needs and professional requirements.
- Behave ethically and act as a role‑model for students.
- Undertake scholarship activities in digital marketing education that have a positive impact on student outcomes and influence at a national or international level.
- Engage in recruitment and outreach activities, including Open Days outside standard working hours.
- Support core administrative areas for MCCI programmes, such as student advising and mentoring.
- Provide effective line management where required.
- Represent the institution with external stakeholders to foster collaboration at regional and national levels.
- Adhere to University quality assurance processes and regulatory frameworks, including professional bodies such as CIM.
- Actively contribute to collective University values through inclusive, collaborative working.
- Make full and active contributions to the principles of the ‘Sheffield Academic’, including excellence in applied teaching, research, and scholarly pursuits.
- Perform other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.

Qualifications and Experience- Experience of teaching digital marketing in a Higher Education environment.
- Teaching qualification (e.g., FHEA, PGCert Higher Education) or evidence of working towards one.
- Experience working and communicating within a team of staff.
- Experience developing strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to develop creative problem‑solving approaches.
- Experience working independently on project activities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and satisfactory IT proficiency.
