Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only (39 Weeks)
Salary: Grade 4/5 (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
Start Date: September 2026 (or as soon as possible)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive primary school in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced staff who are committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

The successful candidate will be passionate about children’s learning, able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families, and committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

The Role

Working under the direction of the class teacher and senior leaders, you will:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the primary age range.

  • Work with individuals, small groups and whole classes to promote pupil progress.

  • Deliver planned intervention programmes to raise attainment and close learning gaps.

  • Support pupils with a range of educational, social, emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Assist in planning, preparing and adapting learning resources.

  • Monitor, record and provide feedback on pupil progress.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

  • Support pupils’ personal, social and emotional development.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including educational visits and enrichment activities where appropriate.

The Successful Candidate Will Have Essential
  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience of working with primary-aged children in a school setting.

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents.

  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • A flexible, caring and positive approach to supporting children’s learning.

Desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • Knowledge of phonics programmes, early reading and intervention strategies.

  • Experience delivering targeted intervention programmes.

  • First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training.
