The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside teachers to help create an engaging, inclusive and positive learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally.

Depending on your placement, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and well-structured lessons
  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions where required
  • Encouraging pupil confidence, independence and active participation in learning
  • Assisting with classroom organisation and preparing learning resources
  • Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents/carers
  • Helping to maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people within a school, childcare or similar environment is highly desirable
  • A positive, patient and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
  • The Right to Work in the UK
