SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: S5 Area, Sheffield
Start Date: September 2026
Pay Rate: £95-£120 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Career Teachers are currently seeking a resilient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time, part time and flexible basis in mainstream primary schools in the S5 area of Sheffield.
This rewarding role involves supporting primary aged pupils who are academically capable but present challenging behaviours
, requiring strong behaviour management and a calm, consistent approach.
- Specialist SEN provision supporting secondary students
- Focus on nurturing both academic progress and emotional development
- Supportive and experienced staff team
- Structured environment with clear behaviour strategies in place
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND
- Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their potential
- Implement and follow behaviour management strategies consistently
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities
- Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Support with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Experience working with SEND pupils
, particularly in a primary setting - Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenges
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Team player with a proactive attitude
- Commitment to supporting young people with additional needs
- Relevant qualifications or training in education/SEND (desirable but not essential)
