We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Maths & Functional Skills to join our Pre-Technical team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people who have experienced gaps in their education and need support to develop the English and maths skills required for progression into further study and employment. As a skilled and experienced tutor, you will primarily teach Maths, from Entry Level 1 to Level
1. There may also be a requirement to teach Entry Level Functional Skills English to support learners in developing the fundamental skills needed for everyday life and success. You will play a key role in helping learners build confidence, resilience and independence. You will work with students who may have faced barriers to learning and require engaging and adaptive teaching approaches to re‑engage them in education and support positive outcomes.
You will deliver high ‑ quality teaching across a range of modules, using creative and engaging approaches to bring your subject to life.
- Deliver outstanding teaching and learning in scheduled classes
- Prepare engaging lesson plans, resources and digital content
- Design assessments and provide timely feedback
- Support and track student progress, ensuring all learners thrive
- Contribute to curriculum development and course reviews
- Participate in internal meetings, quality processes and CPD
- Maintain accurate records and meet administrative deadlines
- Model the College’s FREDIE+ values in all interactions
- Support wider college activities, including open days, enrolment and exams

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of £32,740 – £40,342 per annum, based on the skills, knowledge and experience you bring to the role.
