SEMH Teacher – Sheffield (S5)

Job Type: Full-Time | Long-Term/Permanent
Salary: £170–£250 per day (depending on experience and qualifications) or MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance for permanent roles

Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to inspire young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting in Sheffield (S5).

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require a nurturing, structured and therapeutic approach to learning. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve positive educational outcomes.

The Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and additional learning needs.
Build positive relationships that encourage emotional wellbeing and personal development.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, SENCOs and external professionals.
Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans.
Promote positive behaviour through restorative and trauma-informed approaches.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Has experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour.
Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Is patient, resilient and committed to helping every learner succeed.
Can adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs.
Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
