Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Primary School

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career?

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and confident taking on additional classroom responsibilities while making a real difference to pupils' learning and development.

As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide high-quality support across the school.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Leading lessons and classroom activities when required

• Providing whole-class cover under the direction of teaching staff

• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions

• Supporting pupils across different year groups

• Assisting with the planning and preparation of learning activities

• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement

• Monitoring pupils' progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment

• Has previous experience working within a primary school

• Holds an HLTA qualification/status or relevant equivalent experience

• Is confident leading groups and covering whole classes

• Has a strong understanding of the primary curriculum

• Is organised, adaptable and able to use their initiative

• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff

• Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills

• Is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential
