Grade 7 - £39,906 to £44,746 per annum (depending on experience)

We are seeking a Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry to join our Chemistry team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate chemistry provision, with a particular focus on inorganic chemistry, including lectures, laboratory teaching, assessment and supervision of student projects. Applicants should have a strong academic background in inorganic chemistry or a closely related discipline, with current knowledge of the practical and theoretical aspects of chemistry.

The University has invested significantly in new laboratory equipment for teaching and research in recent years. Our chemistry facilities have been further enhanced following the award of £5m from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) match-funded by the University, to create new facilities for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) provision, including an additional chemistry laboratory and a publicly accessible environment as a resource for nurturing enterprising, work-ready students.

The University currently enrols eligible academic staff into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), a defined-benefit pension scheme.

Further details on TPS can be found here .

Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from all candidates irrespective of age, pregnancy and maternity, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, or marital or civil partnership status.

The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant. You are advised to assess your eligibility against the criteria set out in the UKVI Guidance before applying.

We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements.
